Affordable Apartments for Seniors

Praxis Phase II consists of 96 one bedroom apartments in four two-story buildings. Each building has an elevator, laundry room, and storage area available to our tenants. Each unit includes a dining area and bedroom; a full bath with grab bars; and a kitchen equipped with a stove, oven, refrigerator, and garbage disposal.

Praxis Phase III consists of 128 one and two bedroom units in three four-story buildings. This phase includes all of the features in Phase II plus a dishwasher, fire sprinklers, and hurricane shutters.

The community touts two clubhouses, a computer lab with internet access, laundry facilities, pool, jacuzzi, shuffleboards, picnic areas, an on-site manager and 24-hour emergency maintenance.

Praxis was designed with your health and safety in mind. Each building was built with fire resistant masonry construction, has assistive devices in the bathrooms, and is equipped with a keyless entry system so you can identify guests and control who has access to your building.

The community programs at Praxis focus on keeping you mentally and physically healthy. Our Health Watch program keeps an eye on your health with periodic screenings of your blood pressure and weight. We also host open discussions and planned seminars.

Social events such as shopping excursions, holiday get-togethers, and other community activities help to develop a sense of camaraderie among our residents. This important aspect in our senior community ensures that living a healthy and socially active lifestyle is never out of your reach.

Residents in the Praxis community must be aged 55 or older or on full disability. The maximum income allowed per year is $29,880 for one person and $34,200 for two people. We are not an income based subsidized project, but we do accept housing vouchers from local housing authorities.
